Description

We are looking for a support pedagogue for our newly opened facility, Jorsalagatans residence within the area of Functional Support. The residence will accommodate young adults.

The work schedule includes day, evening, weekend, and sleeping on-call shifts on a rotating 6-week schedule. The work shifts vary according to the needs of the facility. Scheduling is done in the Time Care Planning system, and there is some opportunity to influence your schedule.

As a support pedagogue with us, you will work with the residents in focus and be responsible, together with your colleagues in the facility, for implementing measures according to LSS decisions and, in some cases, SoL decisions. You will be part of the facility's staff group and a network for all support pedagogues within the area of disability services in Kungälv Municipality.

In your role, you are expected to contribute to the facility being development-oriented, innovative, and characterized by good quality and professionalism. Through a pedagogical and inspiring approach, you are expected to motivate, activate, and support young adults towards a safe and meaningful life.

Responsibilities

In your work as a support pedagogue, you will collaborate with the unit manager and operational leader and take an active role in designing and developing the facility, focusing on the pedagogical perspective. Your responsibilities include actively guiding and supporting staff in a structured manner in their pedagogical development.

The work involves, for example, developing, implementing, and following up on work shift descriptions, methods, working methods, and routines - all in accordance with the Convention on the Rights of the Child, established goals, quality requirements, and other routines/guidelines as well as laws and regulations that govern the facility. You will also guide colleagues in the workplace in establishing implementation plans and social documentation according to IBIC, in the Treserva journal system.

You will also perform all tasks in direct work with the residents, such as personal hygiene, cleaning, nutrition, cooking, shopping, medication, social training, culture, and leisure.

Meetings, regular communication, and collaboration with relatives and various partners around the residents are obvious aspects of the job and something you are expected to handle professionally and proactively.

Qualifications

Formal requirements:
- We are looking for someone who has 60 higher education credits or 200 vocational higher education credits in a relevant field. The education must have a clear focus on the disability area in its entirety. You have theoretical and practical knowledge and experience working with individuals with neuropsychiatric behavioral issues, intellectual disabilities, and mental health issues. You have also worked with adapted response strategies, clarifying pedagogy, as well as alternative and augmentative communication (AAC).
- A driver's license is required.

We are looking for someone who is proactive, self-driven, and has a good ability to lead, coach, and support colleagues. You also need to have a strong sense of responsibility for your work.

You should also be accustomed to handling and responding to young adults in various emotional states and be able to work in a risk-aware manner.

The work requires you to have a good demeanor, strong collaboration skills, and a reflective approach.

You also need to have a good ability to use the Swedish language in speech and writing and be comfortable using existing/new digital tools and services.
